“This level of rent growth is unprecedented. An IndyStar analysis of Real Page rental data found that average rents in Indianapolis had largely increased by 4% or less in year-on-year quarterly comparisons from 2000 to the first half of 2021.
But in the second half of last year, everything changed. Rent inflation began climbing to record levels, peaking in the second quarter of this year when rents were 15% higher than the same time last year.”
