We are very excited to partner with the Fair Housing Center of Central Indiana to host An Evening with Leah Rothstein! This special event will take place on Tuesday August 1st at the Toby. There will be a pre-event opening reception where attendees can tour the Fair Housing Center of Central Indiana’s (FHCCI) “Unwelcomed: A Fair Housing History of Sales & Lending Discrimination” and visit partner resource tables. The two-hour event will officially open with an overview of homeownership gaps impacting people of color, mortgage lending/redlining issues, and rental barriers (evictions, substandard housing, rising rents, etc) to set the stage for the evening’s discussion. Ms. Rothstein will then discuss the key findings from her new book “Just Action: How to Challenge Segregation Enacted Under the Color of Law" and how the public can take needed action to address housing disparities. Time will also be provided for a Q&A with Ms. Rothstein. A book signing will follow the event.
“Just Action” answers the question, “How do we challenge the racial divisions in our communities?” It provides a critical blueprint for redressing residential segregation for advocates, community leaders, and concerned residents alike.
This event is completely FREE, but registration is required, so get your ticket before they are all gone! You can see the full agenda and register at: https://www.fhcci.org/events/just-action/
