Greater Indy Habitat invites you to join them for their 2023 speaker event presented by PNC Foundation. As a Brooking Institution fellow, Dr. Perry will discuss his research on the devaluation of assets in Black neighborhoods and how homeownership works to close the growing racial wealth gap in America. The evening will include a panel of experts to discuss local efforts for people-centric housing solutions and to increase Black homeownership and asset-building. Panelists include: Shelley Specchio, MIBOR, Vincent Smith, Building & Impacting Communities Inc., Anthony Murdock, Eastern Star Church, and Ashley Scruggs, United Way of Central Indiana.

Andre M. Perry is a Senior Fellow at Brookings Metro, a scholar-in-residence at American University, and a professor of practice of economics at Washington University. A nationally known and respected commentator on race, structural inequality, and education, Perry is the author of the book “Know Your Price: Valuing Black Lives and Property in America’s Black Cities.”
